A record number of swans have been spotted at the Swan Spring Wetland in Yining County, Xinjiang. Thanks to underground springs, the waters at the wetland are not frozen in winter, attracting a large number of migratory birds to overwinter there each year, including different varieties of swans. Since the early 1990s, the number of swans that spend the winter at the wetland has been increasing steadily.
