In this article, we look at some of those facelifts that were launched this year but not in any particular order

Manufacturers will not be able to launch a new vehicle every year, so they make a few tweaks in design, add a few features, and launch them as facelifted models. Here are the ten facelifts that are worth mentioning from this year:

1. Honda City Facelift

One of the oldest and most popular sedans, the Honda City, was launched in a new avatar in 2020 and it looked gorgeous while continuing to retain the legendary 1.5-litre VTEC petrol engine. On the facelift that was launched this year, there were a few minor changes concerning design, ADAS tech was added to the non-hybrid models, and a new variant was introduced for the hybrid model.

2. Tata Nexon/Nexon EV

The Tata Nexon was first launched in 2017 and since then this has been the second time it has received a facelift, and this time Tata has taken things almost 2 levels above the competition. The facelift launched this year almost feels like a generational update rather than a facelift because so much has been changed. The only things that remain the same are the chassis and the engine and transmission options while a new DCA automatic gearbox has been added to the fleet.

It has received major changes in exterior design making it look more modern, with brand-new interiors that feel more premium along with the new dashboard layout that comprises of the larger touchscreen systems. The Nexon EV too benefits from the exterior and interior changes and without making much change to the battery and motor, it has managed to increase the range.

3. Tata Harrier

The Tata Harrier is a spacious 5-seater and has a rugged build which compliments the exterior design language. Now with the Harrier facelift, it looks more modern, and they have increased the desirability factor of this beast. It used to have a great road presence and now it has increased multiplefold with the help of the new styling. Similarly, the interiors also have received a fresh new look with larger touchscreen units and a more premium-looking dashboard.


Although most of the mechanicals remain the same, the most important change comes in the form of the Electric-Assisted Power Steering (EAPS) which replaces the Hydraulic unit, and it makes a world of difference with the car more suitable for city as well as highway driving. It gets ADAS safety tech as well and has managed to score a commendable 5 stars in the Global NCAP crash tests.

4. Tata Safari


The Safari being the 7-seater version of the Harrier received the same number of changes with a few design tweaks to differentiate from the Harrier. It also received a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests under the new regime and the top-end variants come with ADAS tech as well.

5. Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos has more or less remained the same ever since it was launched in 2019. Only this year it received a mild facelift to keep things fresh, but they did not want to change much as it already was a great car with respect to the classy SUV design with loads of features and multiple powertrain options including a diesel engine that has an option of an automatic transmission as well. The new Kia Seltos facelift gets a few exterior design tweaks, and some changes in the interior, a panoramic sunroof, and a bigger turbo-petrol engine.

6. Mercedes GLE


The Mercedes-Benz GLE received a minor facelift with a few exterior updates, a newly designed steering wheel, and the latest MBUX infotainment unit. Engine options include a 2.0-litre diesel engine, 3.0-litre petrol, and diesel engines. The higher variants now get an option of air suspension and are offered with a long list of features.

7. Hyundai i20

The new Hyundai i20 has received a facelift this year and it now looks more closely related to the European spec models. It gets a new LED headlamp and taillight setup, new features and has removed the diesel engine option. It now gets only one 1.2-litre NA petrol option and those who want the 1.0-litre turbo will have to opt for the i20 N-Line.

8. MG Hector/Hector Plus

The MG Hector and Hector Plus have gone through facelifts before but this year it was a rather big leap, and the models now look more premium inside and out. The exterior looks bolder with the huge grille at the front that has so much of chrome elements in it, while the interior has become more premium and now includes a larger touchscreen unit. Both the vehicles now get Level 2 ADAS technology which increases the safety quotient of these vehicles.

9. BMW X7

The top-of-the-line flagship SUV from the BMW stable gets a facelift this year with changes in both the exterior and interior. The front fascia is now more modern and bolder, while the interiors now get the latest curved displays which run BMW’s latest iDrive 8 system. The powertrain options remain the same with the SUV also being offered with an all-wheel drive layout and mild-hybrid options.

10. Audi Q8 e-tron

The Audi Q8 e-tron is the Audi e-tron’s facelift with few design changes. The biggest change in the electric SUV is the larger battery pack that allows this feature-laden Audi to go the extra mile before stopping for a recharge.

11. Kia Sonet


The 2024 Kia Sonet has received new styling on the exterior, and new features, and has brought back the manual gearbox for the 1.5-litre diesel engine. It gets a new digital instrument cluster, more features, and ADAS safety tech as well.
