The 24-year-old Indian swimmer timed an incredible 1:48:66s in the 200m freestyle event to better the record set by Sajan Prakash in 2021 with his effort of 1:49.73s.
Nataraj had also picked up the silver medal in the 100m freestyle event earlier at the event.

Since swimming takes into account only efforts at National Aquatics Championships to pass for a National Record, and hence the record set by the Karnataka-based swimmer in Singapore is labelled as the Best Indian Time instead.
The 24-year-old Nataraj, who favours the 100m backstroke, had earlier clinched 10 medals at the National Games to lead Karnataka to a resounding triumph.
