Hidden in the bustling shopping hub of Wangfujing Street in Beijing, Heping Guoju, a section with name meaning “pastry shop,” vividly recreates the feel of Beijing in the 1980s.

It is an immersive experience that recreates iconic Beijing elements such as hutongs, oil stores, train stations, and grocery stores from around 40 years ago, presenting a tangible take on old Beijing culture.

As visitors stroll through the area, they can relive and reminisce about their childhood memories by tasting traditional walnut cakes or handmade candies.
