Mahindra March 2024 Sales Analysis: Scorpio, Thar, XUV700, Bolero

Mahindra sold a total of 40,631 units in the month of March 2024; the Scorpio stood at the top spot followed by the Bolero

Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the leading manufacturers in the SUV segment. Its latest line-up starting from Thar, XUV700 to the latest Scorpio N has been a huge success with waiting periods going through the roof.

In March 2024, the Indian SUV manufacturer sold a total of 40,631 units, thereby acquiring the fourth spot in the overall domestic sales tally. This is a considerable rise from the previous year’s figures of 35,976 units, registering a staggering YOY growth of 13%. The MOM analysis reveals a 4% decline as the company sold 42,401 units in February 2024.

Talking about the model-wise sales, the Scorpio (Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic) continues to be the Indian carmaker’s top performer with 15,151 units in the bag, registering a staggering 72% YOY growth (8,788 units in March 2023). Taking the second spot is the Bolero (including Bolero Neo) with the sales bar at 10,347 units, an 8% jump from the previous year. The MOM growth of the Bolero sales is a marginal 2%.

Trailing behind these high-volume pullers are the XUV700 and Thar with 6,611 and 6,049 units, respectively. The popular SUVs registered a YOY sales growth of 29% and 21%, respectively. The soon-to-be-updated XUV300’s figures are not encouraging, with the sales count at 2,027 units. The YOY sales decline of the Mahindra’s compact SUV is 60%.

Similarly, it lost in the MOM front by 51%. The only electric car in the brand’s line-up, the XUV400 EV which was recently updated with the Pro Range model posted sales of 350 units, a massive 82% decline in the YOY figures. Last but not least, the Marazzo registered sales of a mere 51 units. The MPV’s sales numbers were at 490 units in March 2023, thereby a 90% YOY decline is observed here.

To conclude, the Scorpio and XUV700 are the top gainers in YOY analysis while the XUV300, XUV400 EV and Marazzo’s sales declined the most. Every model except the XUV300 and XUV400 EV experienced a nominal MOM increase in sales in March 2024.
