Inzaghi’s decision to leave the Italian giants comes on the back of the hammering the Italian side received against French champions PSG in the Final of the UEFA Champions League.

Serie A side Inter Milan confirmed that head coach Simeone Inzaghi will step down from his role at the helm of the club on Tuesday.
Inzaghi’s decision to leave the Italian giants comes on the back of the hammering the Italian side received against French champions PSG in the Final of the UEFA Champions League.
“The club and Simone Inzaghi are parting ways,” the Serie A giants said.
“This is the decision taken by mutual agreement”, the club said in a statement following a meeting that involved President Giuseppe Marotta.

Inzaghi penned a touching message to the Inter faithful communicating his decision in a statement that read, “Dear Nerazzurri family, the time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a four-year course, during which I gave everything.”
“Every day I dedicated my first and last thought of the day to Inter. I was reciprocated with professionalism and passion by footballers, managers and every single employee of the club,” he added.
“The six trophies conquered, including the Second Star championship, together with the UEFA Champions League course in 2023 and a few days ago, are the tangible testimony of how much my work has been supported by a communion of intent with my staff and with each member of Inter,” the mister continued.
“I thank the shareholders for the trust that has never been lacking, the President and his collaborators for daily help and dialogue. On a difficult day like today, I think it is right to reiterate this sense of gratitude also for the confrontation that ended a little while ago. We have been sincere and together we have decided to end this magnificent journey,” the 49-year-old said.
“A final word I want to dedicate to the millions of Nerazzurri fans who incited me, cried and suffered in difficult times and laughed and celebrated in the six triumphs that we lived together. I will never forget you,” the gaffer signed off.

Inzaghi led the Inter side to a Serie A title, 2 Coppa Italia crowns, 3 Italian Super Cup trophies and reached the final of the Champions League twice.
Reports suggest that the 49-year-old Italian is set to pen a deal with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal on a three-year contract, estimated to earn Inzaghi around £25 million a year.
