Hyundai Inster gets up to 355 km range in the WLTP cycle and is packed with features; comes with a 42 kWh or an optional Long-Range 49 kWh battery
At the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show in July, Hyundai introduced the all-electric Inster with a claimed driving range of up to 355 km on the WLTP cycle. The Inster also offers fast charging capabilities and is heavily inspired by the Casper with a longer wheelbase enabling a more spacious interior in comparison.
Considering the popularity of the micro SUV segment in India, Hyundai is expected to join the fray with the electric Inster in the near future to compete with the well received Tata Punch EV. The exterior comprises unique LED DRLs, pixel-graphic turn indicators, brand new front and rear bumpers, pronounced wheel arches, LED projector headlamps, up to 17-inch alloy wheels, etc.
A total of nine paint schemes are offered in Korea namely Atlas White, Tomboy Khaki, Bijarim Khaki Matte, Unbleached Ivory, Sienna Orange Metallic, Aero Silver Matte, Dusk Blue Matte, Buttercream Yellow Pearl and Abyss Black Pearl. The cabin is loaded with latest features and technologies pertaining to comfort, convenience, entertainment, assistance, safety and security.

The Hyundai Inster is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation, wireless charger, split 50/50 second row with slide and recline functions, custom upper door trim garnishes, pixel-themed graphics on the steering wheel, and optional front bench seat, flat-folded seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, ADAS, bi-directional functionality, etc.
The e-SUV utilises recycled polyethylene terephthalate from bottles and bio-polypropylene material sourced from sugarcane for its interior. It comes with a 42 kWh battery pack and an optional Long-Range 49 kWh battery. Both variants are equipped with a single motor: the base model delivers 97 PS, while the Long-Range version produces 115 PS. Both configurations provide 147 Nm of torque.

The Long-Range variant of the Hyundai Inster offers a projected driving range of 355 km on a full charge, with an estimated energy consumption of 15.3 kWh per 100 km. It can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger. Additionally, it comes standard with an 11 kW on-board charger. We do expect the India-spec model to have higher range upon possible arrival in India.
