Fish farming households in Suqian, east China’s Jiangsu Province, have been busy sun-drying various species of fish ahead of Spring Festival. Rich local water resources yield many aquatic products, which contribute to the prosperity of the town and the well-being of local residents. In Chinese culture, fish is a symbol of surplus and abundance. Dried fish is a good present to give as a gesture of auspicious wishes for the year ahead.
