With its towering sand dunes and spring-fed lakes scattered among them, the Badain Jaran Desert in Alxa League, north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is an ideal place for desert off-roading. The stunning natural beauty of the desert has attracted many off-road enthusiasts to challenge their driving skills. The “Badain Jaran Desert – Towers of Sand and Lakes” successfully passed the review process to be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 26.
