Volkswagen ID.7 GTX Debuts – One Of The Most Powerful VW EVs Ever

The ID.7 GTX stands as Volkswagen’s one of the most potent EVs, boasting a dual electric motor configuration that delivers a combined output of 340 PS

After launching the ID.7 GTX Tourer earlier this year, Volkswagen has unveiled a GTX edition of the standard ID.7 fastback in Germany. Starting today, customers in VW’s home country can place orders for the new ID.7 GTX along with other ID.7 offerings.

The ID.7 GTX stands as Volkswagen’s one of the most potent EVs, boasting a dual electric motor configuration that delivers a combined output of 340 PS. This powertrain enables the fastback to accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in a mere 5.4 seconds. Equipped with an 86 kWh battery pack, the fastback offers an impressive range of up to 595 km according to the WLTP cycle.

In comparison, it slightly surpasses the ID.7 GTX Tourer’s range of 585 km on a single charge. The battery supports DC fast charging of up to 200 kW, allowing for a 10 to 80 per cent recharge in just 26 minutes. It also gets cosmetic enhancements to differentiate itself from the Tourer on the inside as well as out.

Other notable exterior features are IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps as standard, illuminated Volkswagen logos, and a set of 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels. Customers will also get perforated GTX lettering on the backrests. Additionally, the multi-function steering wheel is another GTX-specific feature, showcasing a red finish. Both the fastback and Tourer versions feature a rear electric motor rated at 286 PS. With the increased energy capacity, the Pro S fastback offers up to 709 km of range while the Tourer version provides up to 690 km on a single charge. As for India, VW showcased today the ID.4 at the Annual Brand Conference 2024 earlier this year.

We expect that the German automotive giant will introduce the ID.4 in the near future in India, potentially importing it into the country via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route to leverage homologation relaxation measures. It is sold in the international markets with a claimed range of up to 556 km.
