The total sales reached 8,45,580 units in May 2024 compared to 8,32,305 units in May 2023, which is a YoY growth of 1.59%

This time around there were quite a few changes in the positions on the top 10 list of highest-selling motorcycles and as per the report, the total sales reached 8,45,580 units in May 2024 compared to 8,32,305 units in May 2023, which is a YoY growth of 1.59%.

Hero Splendor, as usual, is at the top spot and continues to decimate its rivals by selling a total of 3,04,663 units in May 2024. Speaking about the same time last year, it sold 37,863 units more than this year because of which it has a negative YoY growth of 11.05%. The surprise runner-up was the Honda Shine with total sales of 1,49,054 units, a 43.74% increase in YoY growth compared to 1,03,699 units sold last year in May.

Holding on to its position at number 3 is the Bajaj Pulsar series with 1,28,480 units sold, showing a slight increase of 0.06% (77 units) from May last year. At the 4th position, we have the next commuter from Hero, the HF Deluxe, and it saw a negative growth of 20.13% YoY, by selling 87,143 units compared to 1,09,100 units in May 2023.

TVS Apache, coming in at number 5 experienced a 9.65% decrease in sales, selling 37,906 units compared to 41,955 units in May last year. Thankfully for TVS, the Raider 125 marked an 8.16% increase in sales, reaching 37,249 units, up from 34,440 units at the same time last year.

The second Bajaj on the list, Bajaj Platina, faced the steepest decline among the top 10, with a 28.27% drop in sales to 30,239 units from 42,154 units. The surprise package was the Honda Unicorn which made a remarkable entry into the top 10 list with 24,740 units sold. Its strong performance highlights its popularity among consumers.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 saw a decline of 9.76%, with sales falling to 23,779 units from 26,350 units in May 2023. While most of them improved their YoY by a small margin and some even had negative growth, the Hero Passion, recorded a mind-numbing 507.04% growth, selling 22,327 units compared to just 3,678 units in May 2023.
