Wenchang Chicken is known as one of the top “Four Famous Cuisines” in south China’s Hainan Province. With an agricultural history spanning over 400 years, this iconic poultry is renowned for its thin yet crispy skin, tender and aromatic meat, and a naturally sweet aftertaste.
Unlike ordinary poultry, authentic Wenchang Chicken is free-range, roaming the island and feeding primarily on coconut flakes, tropical fruits, and natural forage. The traditional method of preparation involves poaching the chicken in near-boiling water – a technique that locks in its succulent texture and delicate flavor.
