Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and Mahindra XUV300 facelift are expected to launch in the coming months in India
Following the launch of the Kia Sonet facelift, the compact SUV segment will witness the arrival of two more models that will carry a starting price of well under Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and here we have explained about them:
1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor:
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor name has been trademarked in India suggesting that it could be used for the upcoming compact SUV. It will be positioned above the Glanza premium hatchback, which is currently the most affordable offering from the brand and below the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It will act as a spiritual successor to the Brezza based Urban Cruiser.
The five-seater will compete with Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, recently launched Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor will more likely be the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The compact SUV coupe, introduced in 2023, has been well-received by customers.
The Taisor will get minor exterior and interior updates compared to its donor while the features list will remain identical. It will boast a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, HUD, a 360-degree camera system, a semi-digital instrument console, automatic climate control, etc. It will derive power from a 1.2L NA petrol engine or a 1.0L turbo petrol engine with MT and AT choices.
2. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift:
Mahindra & Mahindra is currently working on the facelifted XUV300 compact SUV and it has been caught testing multiple times on public roads. The 2024 Mahindra XUV300 will have a lot in common with the recently launched XUV400 Pro range as the interior will be a major revamp with the presence of features such as a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Adrenox, a digital cluster, surround view camera, and much more.
The exterior will also get notable updates as the front fascia will comprise a redesigned grille section, new LED headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights, connected LED tail lamps, newly designed alloy wheels, updated bumpers and so on. It will remain the same dimensional wise and will continue to be underpinned by the X100 platform.
