Rare optical phenomenon cast on Fanjing Mountain

At Fanjing Mountain, a World Natural Heritage site, a spectacular sight appeared after the first snowfall of 2025. As the sun set, a rainbow-like halo emerged atop the mountain peak, leaving spectators in awe. This is often referred to as “Buddha’s Light,” for Fanjing Mountain’s sacred status in Chinese Buddhism.
